Exposing Predditors

Sometimes when the effects of the PTSD hit again, I read websites and articles and blog posts by rape survivors or information on recovering from PTSD and RTS or on revictimization or on surviving an abusive relationship or by survivors of Narcissists or Sociopaths, just to feel like I’m not alone. Just to gain some further understanding or just as a reminder that what I’m experiencing is normal and will pass.

This past weekend, as I did that, I came across this:

Unmasking Reddit’s Violentacrez, the Biggest Troll on the Web

Michael Brutsch: Internet Troll behind Reddit’s Creepshot forum unmasked

That’s the way it needs to be.

Outed and publicly humiliated for exploiting others and damaging lives. Just like rapists should be outed and humiliated because the justice system is failing to keep rapists off the street at a rate of 97% of rapists walking free. More on that next week on a post about “False Accusations.”

Before I continue, I want to address this “innocent until proven guilty” and “freedom of speech” defense. This is not a court of law. This is the internet. This is society. This is culture. No one is imprisoning this man for pedophilia without a trial. Furthermore, “innocent until proven guilty” is not a constitutional right. It is not in the constitution whatsoever.

This is what the 5th Amendment says: “No person shall be…deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.”

He’s not being put to death. He’s not being incarcerated. He’s not having his house taken by the government. Due process of law includes a trial. And if he goes to trial, he will be “Innocent until proven guilty,” a very cliched way of saying presumption of innocence IN A CRIMINAL TRIAL. IN A COURT OF LAW.

So, the presumption of innocence is written into US criminal law, and it comes into play ONLY in the case of an arrest and a criminal trial.

As for “freedom of speech,” this is what the constitution says:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

No law has been made. His freedom of speech has not been impinged. He was exercising his first amendment rights, just like the reporter who outed him was. Just like the brave and wonderful “Samantha” on Tumblr is.

Just like I am, so I’ll continue…

I wholeheartedly agree with Jezebel’s article: How to Shut Down Reddit’s Creepshots Once and For all: NAME NAMES.

Excerpt:

A 25-year-old female Redditor has finally come up with a way to beat Reddit’s r/CreepShots posters at their own game: compile their personal information and report them to their bosses and local authorities. So far, it’s working.

One afternoon in late September, Coweta County Sheriff Investigator Jason Fetner asked Christopher Bailey, a 35-year-old substitute teacher at East Coweta High, to meet with him regarding a school theft. But when Bailey arrived, Fetner told him the real reason for their meeting: he knew that Bailey had been posting photos of his students — “Hot senior girl in one of my classes,” read one charming caption — on the subreddit r/CreepShots, some of which had been viewed thousands of times.

Most of Bailey’s CreepShots contributions were relatively “innocent” (for example, you couldn’t see the senior girl’s underwear) and therefore legal, but the content Fetner subsequently found on Bailey’s cellphone — including multiple texts and nude photos that he sent to girls as young as 16 — were not, and police are now pursuing charges. But how did Fetner know that the substitute teacher with a clean record was a secret sexual predator? Thanks to a tip from a group of anonymous Redditors who are sick of seeing the CreepShots community gleefully post teen upskirt photo after teen upskirt photo while telling the “internet morality police” to “fuck off” and stop ruining their fun.

Fetner told us that the tipster’s anonymity made it extremely difficult for him to convince a judge to sign a search warrant for Bailey — it took “several hours of arguing” before he conceded — but that he sees no real alternative for the time being. “In my personal opinion, not all speech deserves to be protected,” he said. “But until the laws in this country catch up to technology, we’re going to continue to see these types of problems. There’s nothing wrong with people looking out for this sort of thing and taking legal efforts to do something about it.”

Good for “Samantha” – I’m behind you 100%.

100% genuinely happy to out rapists and other sexual predators. 100% genuinely happy all the fucking time to do that.

Reddit administrators don’t agree. They’re furious with Gawker and blocks all links to the site after reporter Adrian Chen threatened to out Violentacrez. Hmmmm. Ironic, no? The huge outcry of what Adrian Chen did, as well as what “Samantha” is doing over at Predditors, is the EXACT SAME THING they’re trying to defend, posting and reposting information obtained from public sources, like Reddit, Tumblr, OKCupid, and Facebook.

A Reddit user named POTATO_IN_MY_ANUS (his mother must be so proud) wrote “The real reason why Violentacrez deleted his account: Adrian Chen, Gawker Media, Creepshots, PM’s and real-life doxxing.” Doxxing, for those of you who don’t know (and it’s a new term for me, too) is explained here in this Tumblr post by downlo and reblogged by my dear friend jmaheia.

And for those of you who scream about Mr. Brutsch’s (now posting under mbrutsch) “freedom of speech” and “right to privacy,” read this:

I literally got nauseous reading this. My stomach turned.

Also read the article at the top of this post where he brags about oral sex with his step-daughter.

In 2010, Violentacrez hosted a legendary “Ask Me Anything” thread”—the same Q & A feature Barack Obama took part in last month. He was asked what was the creepiest thing he’d done “IRL” and delighted readers with a tale ripped out of Penthouse letters. “That’d be a tough call,” Violentacrez wrote, “Perhaps oral sex with my 19-year-old stepdaughter.” It was completely consensual, he claimed in the post, and went on to brag about how awesome it had been in graphic detail.

This happened over ten years ago, Violentacrez claimed. When his then-wife, the girl’s mother, found out, she “got mad, then got over it,” Violentacrez wrote. He says they were married for ten more years.

“It was completely consensual.”

Says he.

He also defends himself and says he is not a pedophile, the man who not only started and/or moderated CreepShots, but also the following subreddits, several of which are now banned because of this Brutsch scandal. Good.

He posted a “a graphic image of a partially clothed woman being brutally beaten by a large man, in “beatingwomen,” a subreddit dedicated to glorifying violence against women.” The posts in this subreddit repeatedly refer to women as whores and bitches. Some of the videos are clearly not consensual BDSM sex, but rather severe assaults and brutality.

For all this, he not only refuses to apologize, which sounds much like a predator I know, but also said, “I would stand by exactly what I’ve done.”

Another man, screen name ocbaud, outed by Tumblr’s now-sometimes -password-protected (and I can’t blame her) Predditors blog, was not only posting and commenting on such sites as CreepShots, but he posted naked pictures of his fiancé without her knowledge on a cuckold forum, asking other predator trolls to comment on what they’d do to her.

Yep. Nice guys.

Ocbaud also stands by his posts, saying that he’s been branded a sexual predator in a conversation with Whister’s Booger (these people just ooze class, don’t they?), who says the “busybody bitch needs to have her dumb ass sued.” Like Violentacrez suggested, it might be creepy, but there is a big difference between being creepy and being a sexual predator. Um. Not that big a difference, douchebag.

The term sexual predator is used pejoratively to describe a person seen as obtaining or trying to obtain sexual contact with another person in a metaphorically “predatory” manner…The term “sexual predator” is often considered distinct from “sex offender“. Many U.S. states also see these differences legally. A sexual offender is a person who has committed a sexual offense. A sexual predator is often used to refer to a person who habitually seeks out sexual situations that are deemed exploitative. (Wikipedia)

Reread Dr. Phil’s page on Sexual Predator Warning Signs as well as my blog post on Emotional and Sexual Predators.

Although many argue that with Brutsch and these other perverts are doing online is not illegal and therefore should be left alone, please let me draw your attention to the teacher Christopher Bailey, mentioned above, who posted a picture of one of his students on CreepShots. A legal picture, no panties showing, taken surreptitiously. Creepy, yes. Illegal, no. However, when confronted by the authorities about his activity, more things were uncovered, like texting naked pictures to 16-yr-old girls.

Um. Illegal. You sick fuck.

Jezebel interviewed the woman behind predditors, who argued that:

CreepShots is a gateway drug to more dangerous hobbies. Fetishizing non-consent “indicates [that CreepShots posters] don’t view women as people, and most will not be satisfied with just that level of violation,” she said. “I want to make sure that the people around these men know what they’re doing so they can reap social, professional, or legal consequences, and possibly save women from future sexual assault. These men are dangerous.” (Source)

Such misogynistic online, albeit anonymous and “legal” activity, just as other forms of sexual abuse**, OFTEN points to better-hidden illegal activity.

Please let me remind you, dear readers, once again, that there is a far, far, far chasm between what is morally reprehensible and dangerous and damaging and abusive to what is illegal. And just as big a chasm between what is illegal and what can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law, especially in cases of rape and sexual assault.

Please let us all also remember, that it is due to creepy, perverted bullies like these disgusting men that led to the suicide of Amanda Todd, a very high profile suicide, but she is only one of hundreds upon hundreds who take their lives because of bullying or abuse or rape.

Although CreepShots is banned, as was it’s replacement CreepyShots, a new thread called Creepshots2 is now up. Although I hope it’s taken down soon, too. But even if they do, these perverts have started creepshots.com, as ArchangelleCuntpunch pointed out.

So, yes, people, this is all protected by “freedom of speech” by law, but supposedly outing rapists isn’t. I’m starting to think that’s a misogynistic, peer-pressured, rape-culture rumor. More research and reporting to follow.

You all know quite well that I agree with The Nation article on How to Out a Rapist.

Thanks to a widespread culture of victim-blaming and rape apologism, attackers usually have it pretty cushy. Victims are still not likely to report the assault and when they do they’re very likely to be blamed for it—an awful reality that re-traumatizes the victim and paves the way for future rapes.

So making the world more uncomfortable for rapists—letting them know that there will be consequences that include public shaming—is something I’m entirely at ease with. Especially considering how often women are silenced around issues of sexual assault. Sometimes that silence is enforced through a culture that makes women afraid to come forward, but sometimes that silencing is explicit…

Preventing victims from naming their attackers—or in this case, even acknowledging the assault—sends the message that rapists’ reputations are more important than a victim’s right to speak up. Savannah Dietrich refused to be silenced. Supporting victims’ voices should be a no-brainer—whether they’re on Twitter, in a courtroom or scrawled across a bathroom wall.

Your day is coming, rapists, and I’ll be the first in line when that day comes. Not only that, I’ll tirelessly work to see that day come sooner rather than later. Watch me.

I’ll never be silent again.

As Weagleweagelde, aka Christopher Bailey, so elegantly put it in this thread, “what goes around comes around dick.” I’d post more of this disgusting man’s misogynistic comments, but I’m rather so very appalled that I’ll wrap this up for now. You can read them for yourselves in the above screenshot. Not surprisingly, the coward deleted his account.

Just like Violentacrez.

Good riddance.

Peace.

**Sexual abuse includes using sexually disparaging terms like “carpet muncher” and “fish taco,” by the way. Misogyny like this in any form points to a very probable rapist, at worst, and sexual predator, at best.

Okay. There’s more, added the day after I wrote the above post upon finding more information:

Other horrific Reddit threads. I honestly never knew such evil existed.

  • rapingwomen, where the top post reads “Oh, hell no. Change my behavior so women will feel safer? LOLOL I want them to fear getting raped at any and every second.” by drunkendonuts, who like the coward he is has deleted his profile, too. There are videos glorifying rape on this thread, as well as some videos that might be rape, not just “consensual non-consent play.” How can this be possible?
  • beatingtrannies
  • SexyAbortions
  • BeatingCripples
  • painal – supposedly “consensual non-consent,” where there is video after video after video of women being painfully anally penetrated. Supposedly consensual, but I really wonder.

All of which, including the filth that Brutsch moderated and propagated, is expressly against Reddit’s Terms & Conditions.

“You agree not to use any obscene, indecent, or offensive language or to provide to or post on or through the Website any graphics, text, photographs, images, video, audio or other material that is defamatory, abusive, bullying, harassing, racist, hateful, or violent. You agree to refrain from ethnic slurs, religious intolerance, homophobia, and personal attacks when using the Website.”

AND

“You further agree not to use any sexually suggestive language or to provide to or post on or through the Website any graphics, text, photographs, images, video, audio or other material that is sexually suggestive or appeals to a prurient interest.”

AND

“You are responsible for ensuring that any graphics, text, photographs, images, video, audio or other material you provide to or post on the Website, including without limitation in bulletin boards, forums, personal ads, chats or elsewhere, does not violate the copyright, trademark, trade secret or any other personal or proprietary rights of any third party or is provided or posted with the permission of the owner(s) of such rights.” (SOURCE)

Let’s take them down. Not only the posts, but the posting perverts as well.

Spread it around. Let people know what’s happening on here. Sign the petition.

Do something. Anything.

“The only thing necessary for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing.” ~Edmund Burke

As horrific as all this is…as much as a lose a little more faith in humanity with each new rape story, each new predator getting away with devastating people under the umbrella of “free speech,” as much as I cry when I think of how my former community & friends betrayed me and embraced my rapist…every once in a while, something miraculous happens: I come across good people doing good things. Speaking out.

Which one are you? Rape apologist? Part of a community that protects and defends rapists and other predators?

Or are you an honorable and brave person with integrity and a sense of personal responsibility?

Stand up and be counted.

Join me, and never be silent about abuse again.
